Lynnfield Fire Restoration Converts Outmoded Sitting Room to a Luxurious Modern Bath

A fire that started in the chimney of a sitting room in this house in Lynnfield gutted several rooms on the second floor.  Significant re-construction was necessary, and the owner used the opportunity to redesign some of the home. The fireplace was removed, allowing the abanonded chimney flew to serve as a plumbing chase for a new bathroom in place of the sitting room. 

Making Maximum Use of Existing Architecture

The room is long and narrow. A custom butt-joint glazed shower enclosure with mitered corners was installed to retain the maximum benefit of the natural lighting. While this is an older home, the modern design maintains a queue from by-gone eras with the free-standing iron/porcelain tub.
